According to data from The Block, the number of bitcoins stored on the Lightning Network payment protocol grew by two-thirds in the past year, reaching a record high of 5580 coins. The US company BitPay reports that the volume of transactions in 2022 increased by 18% versus 2021. The growing interest in Bitcoin as a means of payment could indicate that the coin's price will resume upward movement.
