Earnings growth in the UK supports the pound
UK employment data buoyed the pound as unemployment remained unchanged at 3.7%, which met forecasts. At the same time, average wages rose by 6.4%, higher than expected. This allowed the GBP/USD pair to rise to last week's high. As the dollar weakens, the pair could continue its upward trajectory.
