Inflation in France takes off again
Inflation in France is once again on the rise, going from 7% to 7.2% in annualised terms. Month-to-month price growth was 1%. That was in line with analysts' expectations but much higher than the 0.4% inflation seen a month prior. Producer prices rose by 2.7% over the course of the month, which exceeded forecasts. It's very likely that the ECB will not conduct any serious monetary tightening policies in the near term, which is good news for the stock market.
