Inflation in the US higher than forecasted
Consumer prices in the United States rose by 3.2% year-over-year, while most analysts expected a more modest increase of up to 3.1%. What's more, core inflation less food and fuel was 4.7%, which was lower than forecast. Markets reacted to this with lower quotes for the US dollar.
