It's just a correction
Hawkish statements from Raphael Bostic and James Bullard, members of the US Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), caused the dollar to strengthen sharply and the prices for risky assets to drop. However, a significant portion of investors still believes that inflation is being kept in check and that the regulator will soften its monetary policy in the not-too-distant future. As such, the thinking goes, the current correction will not continue. The price of gold will likely begin to rise again.
