US interest rate hikes could be paused
At a press conference following the announcement of the FOMC's decision to increase the interest rate by 0.25%, US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said that the banking crisis is having a disinflationary impact on the economy and that the Fed's rate hike cycle could be put on pause. Investors' expectations that US interest rates have nearly hit their peak are fostering higher prices for precious metals.
