Getafe fans everywhere are gearing up for a busy week ahead as the team prepares to play two key home matches in the space of just four days. First, Azul will host the Swiss league leaders FC Basel in the Europa League, followed by another home game, this time against Sevilla in La Liga.
FC Basel: build-up and prediction
Getafe was a little slow to start this season, but with three wins and a draw in the last 5 matches, it’s safe to say they’ve finally found their form. Every fan can be sure that José Bordalás will be telling the lads to view last week’s loss against ten-man Barcelona as nothing but a minor hiccup, as they look to get back to their winning ways against the Swiss visitors next Thursday.
By contrast, FC Basel kicked off the season in emphatic style to gain a solid foothold at the top of the Super League table. But since their 3-0 home thumping by Luzern, they seem to have waned somewhat, registering just two draws out of two games. Getafe will need to be strong across the pitch if they are to keep their good form going and really challenge Sevilla. In terms of balance, this game is definitely winnable, but it will all come down to how they perform on the day.
