Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (SPCE)

Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. is an American company that's part of billionaire Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group. Virgin Galactic was the first company to provide suborbital tourist flights on its own spaceships and prepare tourists for flights on the International Space Station. In May-June 2021, Virgin Galactic successfully tested the manned SpaceShipTwo Unity launched on the VMS Eve jet aircraft designed to carry the spaceship.

On 11 July, Virgin Galactic's founder, Sir Richard, will take a suborbital flight into space on SpaceShipTwo Unity. He'll become the first billionaire in human history to go to space, beating his competitors Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos to the chase.

Virgin Galactic will carry out flights on its own spaceships made by subsidiary company Spaceship Company (founded by Burt Rutan and Sir Richard Branson in mid-2005). The company also plans to sell these spacecraft to other customers.

In 2019, the space tourism industry was worth $753 million. Analysts at UBS believe that this figure will hit $3 billion by the end of 2030 and will continue to grow an average of 16% per year. In addition, according to a report released by Cowen Inc., 2.4 million people with $5 million or more could be potential suborbital space tourism clients.
