CAC 40 is one of the major stock indicesin France. It includes the stocks of 40 largest by capitalization companies listed on Euronext Paris exchange.
It is being published since December 31, 1987 from the base value of 1000 pips.
The national French stock index CAC 40 depends on the general growth of the French economy and the potential of the local companies. Historically its growth potential is lower than German DAX or British FTSE 100, which reflect the states of stronger European economies.
